A friend of mine gave me a cocktail style Star Trip machine recently.  I had repaired the classic "leaky battery" problem (at least to some extent) a number of years ago and, in turn, he gave me the machine once he tired of it.
When I recieved the game it was "dead in the water" again.  I looked over the MPU board and identified one trace that appeared to be in bad shape.  Once the board was re-installed the machine came to life long enough to play a few games (10 minutes or so) and then died again.
It seems that it plays fine for a short while when first plugged in but dies soon afterward.  The LED on the MPU board flashes when it is first plugged in and working but, once it dies, the LED no longer flashes.  The +5 volt and +12 volt supplies are ok to the test points but I suspect that a failing component is the cause....Anyone run into this before?"

Also the ball return solenoid doesn't attempt to kick the ball back into play (doesn't make any souond at all).  I would appreciate any thoughts!

Thanks,
Duke
