Is there a chart that shows which pairs of wires are used for each switch?

For example, my Cyclone has a simple table with 8 columns and 8 rows. Each column and each row are for a seperate wire. For example, row 1 may be a Grn/Wht wire and column 1 may be a YLW/BRN wire. The grid location would then have a particular switch associated with it.

Anyway, I have several switches that are not registering during the dignosis mode, the following switches do not work:
P Lane (140)
Lower Extra When Lit (160)
Upper Right Thumber(220)
Kickout Hole (240)
None of the Loop Lane Switches (250, 270, 280, 290, or 300)
Drop Target "S" (310)
Drop Target "H" (320)
"H" Lane (380)
1000 And Advance Lane (400)

I figure I must have more than one broken wire.

If push comes to shove, I'll build my own, but I hope one exists some where.

As I mentioned, I'm also having solenoid problems, but I can't test that right now (babies are asleep).

Thanks much,
Curtis

Most of the switches work now. It was really me just being lazy about properly seating the connectors.

However,I have a few new problems:

1) When I turn the machine on for the first time, I can't just start a game (note, it set for free play). I can, however, cycle completely through the adminstrative settings and then start a game.

After leaving the game on for several minutes, I can turn it off and back on, and start a game WITHOUT having to cycle through the settings. Sounds like a bad cap somewhere, I just don't know where.

2) Now, I start the game. Most of the switches score properly. But, some of them cause the game system to essentially lock up, requiring that I power down and power it back up.

3) Some switches cause the wrong soleniod to fire.

Any thoughts on how I can go about diagnosing the problem? Reduce the number of variables to help identify the problem?

Cheers

That's a funny problem. Do you have the correct ROMs in the MPU? If the wiring is correct, I can't think of a reason as to why the wrong solenoids would fire, besides that.
